Profile
Ethan Knight joined the Office of Scholars and Fellowships as the Associate Director in July 2022. Before becoming a Spider, Ethan served as the National Fellowships Coordinator for STEM Competitions at the University of South Carolina, where he is completing his Ph.D. in 19th-century American Literature; his dissertation explores genre, intertextuality, and the short fiction of E.A. Poe.
At the University of Richmond, Ethan assists with the selection process and logistics of the Richmond Scholars Program, as well as helping students identify and apply for nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships. Ethan is committed to helping students not only achieve success in their applications, but also to supporting them as they explore, define, and work toward their own academic, career, and personal goals.
Originally from the Chicago area, Ethan misses the food but not the weather. In his free time, he and his wife Olivia might be found kayaking, exploring Richmond’s many historical sites, or sampling the fantastic local cuisine. They also enjoy taking walks with their dog, Queequeg, who is thrilled to be able to visit UR’s gorgeous campus on the weekends.
