Dates and Deadlines
Each of the fellowships and scholarships has its own specific deadline, and it is crucial that applicants meet these deadlines. The surest way to remove oneself from contention is to submit any part of an application after the deadline. Since parts of each application typically involve others (like writers of university endorsement letters and other letters of reference, the university registrar, etc.), applicants should begin working on their applications far in advance of the deadline.
For this reason, the
Director of National Fellowships has created internal deadlines for some of the fellowship programs. These deadlines for Richmond students are intended to ensure that students are well prepared prior to the official program deadline.
